Watch Salvador Dali on a 1950s TV Gameshow

This rare gem of a video features footage of surrealist master, pop culture icon and the man behind these wonderful illustrations for Alice in Wonderland on the US TV gameshow, What’s My Line?

What’s My Line was a CBS TV Show which originally ran from the 1950 to 1967. The main premise of the show is something like 20 Questions. In the show, a group of celebrity panelists ask questions to the contestant in order to try and figure out the contestant’s occupation. The contestant can only answer in ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

Salvador Dali makes for a great TV show guest as you would expect. Dali takes on the panelists in his famously whimsical fashion, and it is highly amusing to watch him befuddling the panelists with every question.
