In this video short, Ray Bradbury poignantly recounts his early years as a poor 19 year old who, unable to attend college, took refuge in libraries instead.

Bradbury, one of science fiction’s best and most beloved authors is well known for his passionate love of books, and for speaking out on their importance. His best-selling novel, Fahrenheit 451, published in 1953 and widely acknowledged by many as one of science fiction’s finest works, examines the dangers of living in a society without books.
